Trump: Kim kept his word on halting nuclear tests
United States President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un kept his word about not conducting any more nuclear or long-range missile tests. Speaking in front of the White House before leaving for Iowa, Trump added that he received a “beautiful” and “warm” letter from Kim yesterday, and expressed confidence that the two countries will be able to resume talks despite an apparent deadlock in the denuclearization negotiations.

Trump stated that Washington and Pyongyang still have a great relationship despite the developments in the past few months, but stressed that more progress is needed before another meeting is scheduled between him and Kim. He added that North Korea has “tremendous potential” and expressed optimism that “something positive” will happen with regard to the East Asian country.
