Bolsonaro says he tested negative for COVID-19
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro’s coronavirus test came back negative, he announced in a Facebook post on Friday.
The announcement comes after media reports claimed Bolsonaro’s first test for the virus was positive. Earlier, the Brazilian president’s son Eduardo confirmed the initial test was positive but pointed out that a second more conclusive test had not yet been completed and accused media of writing “too much lies and too little information.”
The reports of Bolsonaro being infected sparked fears he could have transmitted the disease to his American counterpart Donald Trump as the two leaders met over the weekend.
