China’s assertiveness poses ‘systematic challenge’ – NATO
China’s ambitions and “assertive behavior” mark “systematic challenges” to the international order, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) stated on Monday.
In a communique issued after the organization’s meeting, NATO warned of Beijing’s rapid nuclear arsenal expansion and pinpointing Asian country’s cooperation with Russia as a further point of concern.
“Allies urge China to engage meaningfully in dialogue, confidence-building, and transparency measures regarding its nuclear capabilities and doctrine. Reciprocal transparency and understanding would benefit both NATO and China,” the statement read.
