China’s COVID-19 vaccine to start phase 3 human trials
UAE Health Minister Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais said on Tuesday the country has approved a phase three human trials of coronavirus vaccine developed by China’s Sinopharm Group Co.
According to the minister, this is the first vaccine candidate in the world which has entered the third phase of the trials. Abu Dhabi-based Group 42 Inc. will cooperate with Sinopharm during the trials and offer its AI services to the scientists.
More than 1,000 Sinopharm employees have already been voluntarily vaccinated, and the results haven’t shown “big” side effects so, according to the official approval document, the vaccine has proven to be safe so far.
