Germany’s daily COVID cases at record 37,120

The number of daily confirmed coronavirus infections in Germany grew at a record pace for the second day in a row, data from the country’s Robert Koch Institute showed on Friday.

Germany’s COVID-19 infections rose by 37,120 over the past 24 hours to bring the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 4,709,488.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the disease climbed by 154 since the previous day to reach a total of 96,346.
