India’s daily COVID cases hit another 8-month high
India’s Health and Family Welfare Ministry confirmed in its latest update that 347,254 people across the nation tested positive for the coronavirus disease in the past twenty-four hours.
The figure brings the total number of cases the country saw since the start of the pandemic to 38,566,027. It also marks India’s highest daily jump in COVID-19 cases since May 12, when health officials confirmed 362,727 new infections.
The number of virus-related deaths increased by 703 to land at 488,396, while total recoveries reached 36,058,806, taking the number of active cases to 2,018,825.
