Intense rebound to occur in 2nd half of 2021 – ECB’s De Guindos

Vice President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Luis de Guindos (pictured) stated on Tuesday that the second half of the year will be characterized by an “intense economic rebound” in the euro area.

Delivering remarks at the Complutense University of Madrid, he attributed the optimistic prediction to the faster-than-anticipated “vaccine rollout in Europe.”

De Guindos went on to reiterate that the ECB must make sure that a desired transitory jump in inflation doesn’t turn into a permanent state.
