Iran praises new US stance on conflict in Yemen
United States President Joe Biden’s promise to end “all military support” for the Yemen war, “including relevant arms sales,” can be viewed as a chance for the US to “correct past mistakes,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stated on Saturday.
Speaking to the Iranian press, Khatibzadeh praised Biden’s move, stressing that the decision is admirable if it doesn’t turn out to be “a political maneuver.”
The United States unveiled the day before that it was revoking Yemeni Houthis’ terrorist status in an effort to facilitate the peacemaking process in the Middle Eastern country.
