New York state registers 299 new coronavirus deaths
Andrew Cuomo, governor of the state of New York, reported on Saturday 299 people died from COVID-19 since yesterday, brining the overall death toll to 24,368.
He said the number of overall hospitalizations and new hospitalizations per day decreased further.
In addition, a statewide study found that 12% of 15,000 people tested had been infected with coronavirus as of May 1, a decrease compared to the prior month.
