No solution on Ukraine without EU – Von der Leyen
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Friday that “there can be no solution” to the crisis in Ukraine without the involvement of the European Union. She pointed out that the EU “supports Ukraine enormously” with €6 billion and that the bloc is “indispensable” in ensuring Ukraine’s energy security.
At a joint press conference, French President Emmanuel Macron denied that the EU is excluded from discussions on the Ukraine crisis between the United States and Russia. He insisted the EU must communicate with Russia, stressing that dialogue does not mean the union will make concessions to Moscow, and adding he will talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days.
