Qantas deterring fleet expansion due to coronavirus
Qantas Airways Ltd. announced on Monday it notified the Boeing Co. and Airbus SE that it won’t be able to take delivery of new planes in order to better position itself to overcome the current crisis.
Qantas had plans to add to its fleet three Boeing 787-9 jets by the end of 2020 and 18 Airbus A321neos by 2022.
The company said it was unknown until when the deliveries will be deterred due to the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
