Trump to declare national emergency over COVID-19 – report
United States President Donald Trump is expected to announce a national emergency amid growing cases of coronavirus in the country, according to a Bloomberg report on Friday. The president is scheduled to address the public on COVID-19 at 3 pm ET later today.
The emergency would invoke the Stafford Act, which would allow more federal aid to states and municipalities.
Meanwhile, the organizers of the Boston Marathon have decided to postpone the event until September 14, due to the concerns over the COVID-19 epidemic, which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization.
