Trust between Russia, Germany key to stability – Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov remarked on Monday that mutual trust between his country and Germany is the major factor for stability in Europe and Eurasia.
“A special role in strengthening factors for unity in bilateral relations belongs to inter-regional and inter-municipal ties,” he said. “Its focus is on cooperation in the field of innovations, energy, transport, urban infrastructure, and protection of the environment.”
Lavrov recently noted the relations between Russia and Germany are going through a “difficult period.” Meanwhile, Berlin and France stressed they want to maintain ties with Moscow despite political differences.
