US: Daily COVID cases down to 175,663, deaths at 1,113
The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in the United States reached 14,757,000 on Monday, after 175,663 tests came back positive during the last 24 hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University’s tally.
During the same period, American health officials have reported 1,113 deaths attributed to COVID-19, the data unveiled, which brought the country’s death toll to 282,299.
White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx asserted the day before that the winter months will bring a worrying surge in daily registered infections, describing the predicted scenario as “the worst event that [the US] will face.”
