US registers 62,399 COVID cases, 852 deaths

According to Johns Hopkins University data, the United States added 62,399 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours. This brings the total recorded number of cases in the country to 31,991,750.

Over the same time period, there were 852 COVID-related deaths, increasing the total death toll to 571,197.

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lifted their temporary ban on the administration of Johnson & Johnson vaccines, as formed FDA head Dr. Scott Gottlieb warned the country may never reach herd immunity.
