US registers 68,212 new coronavirus infections

United States health authorities revealed that the aggregate number of COVID-19 cases in the country hit 4,174,437, after surging by 68,212 since the previous update, according to the Johns Hopkins University’s tally. Over 50.6 million tests have been carried out, the data also showed.

Over the past day, 1,067 additional deaths caused by the coronavirus have been registered, taking the overall death count to 146,391.

On the other hand, a total of 1,279,414 people have recovered from the disease so far.
