WH: Enough vaccines for all eligible Americans by end of May
White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeffrey Zients (pictured) stated on Friday that there will be enough coronavirus vaccines to inoculate all Americans aged 16 and over by the end of May.
Zients commented on the vaccination rollout saying that so far 100 million American adults have been fully vaccinated, with over 220 million vaccine doses administered in the first 100 days of the Biden administration, meaning that 55% of all eligible Americans have had at least one shot of the vaccine.
The news comes on the heel of Moderna Inc. announcing their plans to increase vaccine supply by 2022, and Novavax Inc. discussed with the US Trade Representative Katherine Tai on boosting the production of their COVID-19 vaccine.
