YouTube announces TikTok-like feature Shorts
YouTube announced on Monday it is launching YouTube Shorts in an apparent effort to compete with popular Chinese app TikTok.
“We’re excited to announce that we are building YouTube Shorts, a new short-form video experience right on YouTube for creators and artists who want to shoot short, catchy videos using nothing but their mobile phones.,” the Google-owned YouTube stated.
The company noted that an early beta version of the tool, which will let users upload 15-second or shorter videos, launched today in India, a country that banned TikTok citing security concerns.
