Brazilian firm to produce Sputnik V from next week
Brazilian company Uniao Química Farmaceutica is set to start the production of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine next week despite the fact that the country’s health regulator hasn’t yet approved the jab’s emergency use.
“We intend to start production next week with a view to export,” the company’s Chief Executive Fernando Marques explained commenting on the decision.
The move comes a week after the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency decided not to authorize the use of Sputnik V citing safety reasons.
