COVID-19 death toll passes 600,000 worldwide
Deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus surpassed 600,000 worldwide on Saturday to land at 600,037.
The recent surge in confirmed cases of COVID-19 brought the tally of people who contracted the disease across the world to over 14 million the day before.
Most deaths were recorded in the United States, as well as the most confirmed cases, with the number of coronavirus infections rising in Brazil and India as well.
