Fauci: We may see surge upon surge in COVID cases
United States National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci told ABC on Sunday that there could be more surges in COVID-19 cases after the current wave.
“We may see a surge upon a surge. We don’t want to frighten people but that’s just the reality,” Fauci stated. The epidemiologist also called on people to be “really careful” when they return from holiday travel.
The US has reported more coronavirus cases than any other country with over 13 million confirmed infections with a record of over 200,000 cases registered on Saturday.
