FBI arrests Trump appointee over Capitol riot
Federico Klein, one of former United States President Donald Trump’s State Department appointees, is facing federal charges in connection with a riot that occurred on January 6, Politico reported.
Samatha Shero, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Washington Field Office, confirmed to the media outlet that the former State Department aide had been apprehended by the authorities but didn’t go on to detail the charges brought against him.
In January, The House of Representatives impeached the former head of state over the incident, accusing him of inciting his supporters to storm the Capitol building in an effort to stop lawmakers from affirming current President Joe Biden’s election victory.
