Mondelez to buy Chipita for about $2B
Mondelez International announced on Wednesday it reached an agreement to buy croissant and snack maker Chipita for approximately $2 billion through a combination of new debt issuance and existing cash.
“Welcoming Chipita S.A.’s delicious pastry products into the Mondelēz International family advances our strategy to become the global leader in broader snacking,” Mondelez CEO Dirk Van de Put stated.
The acquisition is subject to antitrust approvals and closing conditions.
