NY registers record 12,697 daily COVID-19 cases
There were 12,697 new cases of COVID-19 registered in New York State, the most in a single day since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Friday.
He added that 5.09% of those tested were positive for the virus and that 70% of the cases can be traced to households and small gatherings as he called on New Yorkers to stop meeting in homes.
Cuomo also revealed that 120 people passed away from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours in New York.
