Toyota’s 2021 worldwide sales up by 10.1% YoY
Toyota Motor Corporation announced on Friday that its worldwide sales in 2021 increased by 10.1% in comparison to the previous year to come in at 10,495,548 units.
The vehicles sold under Toyota’s brand gained 10.6% on an annual level to reach 9,615,157. Daihatsu sold 725,179 units, which is 4.5% higher than in 2020. Meanwhile, Hino’s sales went up by 9.1% year-on-year to stand at 155,212. Inside Japan, the corporation sold 2,108,810 vehicles, 2.2% less than in 2020. Outside the country, its sales came in at 8,386,738 vehicles, 13.8% higher than the year before.
Its worldwide production grew by 9.4% annually to reach 10,076,246 units. Meanwhile, the company’s exports rose by 1.6% in comparison to 2020 to 1,823,468 vehicles.
