Two rockets fired on US embassy in Baghdad

Iraq’s security forces stated that two rockets were launched toward the United States embassy compound in Baghdad’s Green Zone.

According to the statement, the first rocket was shot down by C-RAM batteries, while the second one hit the square in the Green Zone damaging two vehicles. No casualties have been reported thus far.

This is the latest in the series of attacks on the US embassy in Iraq, and similarly to other attacks, no one has claimed responsibility yet. However, media reports indicate that the groups most likely for the attack are pro-Iran factions in Iraq.
