UK’s COVID death toll up by 489, cases grow by 28,507
The United Kingdom registered another 28,507 coronavirus infections, bringing the nation’s total number of cases to 1,977,167, the government’s official data showed on Friday. The daily growth in COVID-19 infections was lower compared to a record high of 35,383 recored on Thursday.
Meamwhile, the number of fatalities caused by the disease rose to 66,541 in the United Kingdom as health officials reported 489 virus-related deaths in the past 24 hours.
The county conducted 375,185 tests for the coronavirus since yesterday’s update, according to the official data.
