Update on Iran monitoring deal within days – IAEA
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated on Thursday it will release an update on the temporary agreement it made with Iran on monitoring the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) within days.
The organization said it is still “in consultations” with Tehran about extending the “existing understanding.” It added the initial agreement, which will expire on Friday, “remains in effect.”
Back in February, the IAEA and Iran reached a “temporary bilateral technical understanding” to allow that organization to continue its “necessary verification and monitoring activities for a period of up to three months.”
