WHO approves Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine
The World Health Organization approved on Friday Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, Director-General Tedros Adhanom announced.
The Chinese vaccine received the green light to be used in all adults older than 18, signaling the world that the jab is safe and effective. The vaccine will therefore now be able to enter the COVAX global vaccine program.
Sinopharm’s vaccine is the sixth vaccine against the COVID-19 that has received approval from the WHO, giving countries a signal to expedite the regulatory approval and start vaccinations.
