Giuliani associate guilty of illegal contributions
Lev Parnas (pictured right), a former associate of Rudy Giuliani, was convicted in New York on Friday on charges of illegal campaign contributions to influence American politicians.
Parnas was accused of using other people’s money to pretend he was a political broker in order to get close to notable Republicans. It was also alleged that he donated $325,000 to America First Action, a political action committee (PAC) loyal to ex-president Donald Trump.
The case drew attention due to Parnas’s role in Giuliani’s attempt to have Ukrainian authorities investigate Hunter Biden during his father Joe’s presidential campaign. Giuliani has maintained that he was unaware of any illegal campaign contributions by Parnas.
