US FDA approves Roche’s coronavirus antibody test
The United States Food and Drug Administration gave Roche’s coronavirus antibody test an emergency approval, the pharmaceutical company said.
Roche added that it will boost the production of the test,which determines with a 99.8% specificity if a person has ever been infected with the coronavirus and if they developed antibodies against it, stressing it plans to make tens of millions of tests per month.
“As more is understood about immunity to SARS-CoV-2, the test may help to assess who has built up immunity to the virus,” Roche added.
