Wang: China, US need to strengthen communication
China’s Vice President Wang Qishan (pictured) stated on Saturday that the United States and China need to strengthen their communication and treasure the years of cooperation.
Speaking at an event marking the 50th anniversary of “ping-pong diplomacy” between the US and China, Wang stated that “China-US relations are at an important juncture,” adding that as the two largest economies the countries need to “strengthen communication and understanding and expand cooperation in many areas.” Additionally, he noted that there should be no strategic misjudgment.
Tensions have been rising lately between the US and China, with the latter accusing the US of meddling in its affairs and saying that any harmful US actions will face repercussions. However, the two countries did find some common ground when it comes to climate change.
